What IF we could engineer better health? — Live Stream 6:30 PM, January 31
What if many of our healthcare issues could be solved not with drugs but with engineering? This is the question to be explored by PBS NewsHour science correspondent Miles O’Brien and Director of West Virginia University’s Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Dr. Ali Rezai.
Rezai is a world-renown neuroscientist with many ongoing projects related to engineering health, from using magnetic stimulation of the brain to curb opioid addiction cravings to using ultrasound to treat early-stage Alzheimer’s. As O’Brien and Rezai discuss these projects, they will also highlight complementary research conducted at Purdue.
